AI dashboards
The dashboard is where you look. The AI is where you ask.
People keep trying to make the chat box into the dashboard. That is how you get a number nobody can defend in a meeting, because the meeting is looking at whatever the model said this time.
Coeleste splits the job on purpose. The dashboard is where you see and reference the truth you created. Your AI of choice is where you interrogate that truth, prove it, or hang a new metric.
The board is the record
A tile hangs on a definition you signed off on. Collected revenue is this, this, and this. Reactive tickets exclude that. Everyone looking at the board is looking at that agreement. Last six months vs this client vs week over week is a view. It does not rewrite what the thing is.
You decide who is allowed to change a definition. Everyone else can see the tiles. They cannot quietly rewrite CAC before the board meeting. Changes have history. You can preview a restore. You can put last week's definition back if today's version was a mistake.
The AI is the interrogation
ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, whatever you already talk to. That is where you ask why ROAS swung, whether the definition still matches how the business actually works, or what a new metric should be. The model proposes. You agree. Then you hang a tile. The tile does not keep improvising.
That conversation talks to the same lake the dashboard draws, over MCP. Same permission model. If you cannot see payroll in the app, your AI cannot see payroll either.
Send the board. Do not buy them a seat.
External viewers do not take a seat. You pick the dashboards a customer, a board member, or a contractor may open. They get a magic link. They see those boards. They cannot wander the lake, they cannot talk to your AI, and they cannot open a dashboard you did not give them. Access lasts until you revoke it.
That is the point of a dashboard. A number the rest of the company, or the customer, can look at without sitting in your tools.
Coeleste is coming soon. Get early access if you want in. More notes.
